Fawzi who?

I'm Fawzi Ammache, and if you're wondering how to pronounce my name it's "FA-W-ZEE".

I live in Toronto, Canada and I'm a UX Designer who has a passion for creating experiences that are delightful and add value to people's lives.

I'm studying Industrial & Systems Engineering and specializing in Human-Centered Design at the University of Toronto. I'm also completing a Certificate in Artificial Intelligence and a Certificate in Business.

I take courses in design, information systems, programming and business.

I chose UX Design because I love understanding and solving people's problems. ‍

I believe that designers should act like every user's real life best friend, the same way that our best friend understands us and cares about solving our problems, no matter their complexity.

Empathy is the most important design tool.

I recently completed a internship at Google where I worked as a UX Engineer on the Search team. I've also interned as a UX Designer at Rogers Communications, Canada's largest telecom company and RBC, Canada's largest bank.

These experiences have been invaluable as I was able to work on products that millions of people use everyday. They have also allowed me to be part of cross-functional teams: working with UX Researchers to understand users, collaborating with developers to turn designs into reality and communicating with business stakeholders to make sure we're always adding value to the business.

I will talk about sports until my last breath. I'm obsessed with anything soccer and the NBA, and I've also participated in a 10-day training camp with PSG, and the Gothia Cup in Sweden. My favourite teams are Manchester United and the Toronto Raptors.

I speak three languages: I'm fluent in English, French and Arabic (and yes, I know all the bad words).

I grew up in Lebanon where we learn all three languages at school and use them on a daily basis all across the country! 🇱🇧

Oh, and here's what I really look like!
